Decadent December

When I think of the holiday season, the first thing that comes to mind is food. Well that happens everyday…;) With all the craziness happening throughout the month, I feel like I don’t get the opportunity to bake or cook some of the yummy treats that I see on all the blogs I read. Since I get a longer winter vacation now that I’m in college, I decided to make a little challenge for myself: make December decadent. It may sound a little cheesy, but my plan is to bake or cook a “holiday” recipe at least once a week. Next week might not count though since I’ll be at school without a kitchen…;)

So heres a few of the recipes I hope to make:

***edited with what I actually made :)

Gracie’s nutella baked oatmeal (made!)

Mama Pea’s Sugar Cookie Smoothie

Chelsey’s waffle hash browns and homemade blueberry bagels (hash browns made!)

Savory Dishes:

Haylie’s Cherry Chicken Sausage Savory Baked Apples (plan to recreate sans chicken sausage;) (made!)

Angela’s Holiday Salad with Cranberry Apple Orange Vinaigrette (okay so really I’ve already made this, but I want to make it again. It’s that good:) (made!)

Ashley’s quinoa stuffed acorn squash

Chelsey’s slow cooker butternut squash and apple soup (made!)

Mama Pea’s Roasted Garlic Herb Smashed Potatoes

Mama Pea’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough CupsChocolate Chip Scones, and Apple Cider Donuts (been meaning to make these since September but kept forgetting!)

Emily’s Salted Caramel Apple Crisp

Ashely’s gooey brownies

Gingerbread cookies (still need to find a recipe, let me know if you have a good one!) (made!)

This may seem like a lot of food to bake/cook in one month, but I think I can make it happen;) As long as I make a few things from each category I’ll be content;)

Are there any recipes that you want to make this holiday season?

Have you tried any of the recipes above?

Peace and Love,
