Last night I set my alarm for 8:30 am because I had plans to get up, eat, and workout before my interview today. Unfortunately, my mind wanted to wake up about an hour early. Has this ever happened to you? So I stayed in bed for another 45-minutes, trying to fall back asleep, but no such luck. Now I’m up (obviously), but still feel tired. I hate that feeling, but hopefully as soon as I get some coffee in my system, I’ll be up and ready to tackle the day ahead :)
On the agenda for today is a quick run and then Zumba. There’s a new instructor so I’m a little anxious to see how she is ;) Later today I’m meeting with the mother of a babysitting job I was offered and I’m not going to lie, I’m a little nervous. I hate interviews because they can be so awkward. I guess this isn’t really a “interview”, but I’m still scared. She just wants to meet me and get to know me, but since I have an interview for a “real” job next week, I’m not sure what I’m going to tell her. If I can, I’d love to be able to do both. Two jobs = two paychecks ;) I’m just ready for it to be the afternoon so it will be over with ;)
Today also happens to be my dad’s birthday. Every year we have the same tradition. My mom makes ribs and potatoes and for dessert we have my mom’s white cherry cake, which happens to be my dad’s favorite. This is the second year I’ve been a vegetarian on his b-day, so I’ll probably just eat the side dishes or just make my own meal. NBD, it’s his special day :)
Normally my sisters and I don’t get anything too big for my dad for his b-day since it’s so close to Christmas, but I decided to make him a dessert because whenever I get the chance to bake, I take it :) For Christmas I made him peppermint bark, and he loved it. So for his birthday, I figured it only be right if I made him cake batter bark! I guess there really is no baking involved, but it was still fun to make ;) I used *this* recipe, and followed it exactly. It only takes a few minutes to throw together, the
hardest longest part is just waiting for it to freeze :)
Now it’s time to hit the gym! Have a wonderful Saturday.
Peace and Love,
