Marvelous Weekend

You know those weekends where so much seems to go on that it goes by in a blink of an eye? That’s definitely how this weekend was. But I loved it. Let’s back track to a few days ago.

Friday:

I ended up not having to work my back-up at work (yay!), so I was able to go with my sisters and their husband/boyfriend to dinner downtown.get-attachment.aspx

get-attachment.aspxIn Indy there’s an event called Devour Downtown where you can eat at higher end, or usually more expensive restaurants for cheap(er). We ended up having less than stellar service, but my food was still pretty good. (Emily wrote a review about our experience if you’re interested in reading about it).

My meal started out with mushroom risotto:get-attachment.aspx

Pretty good, but a little too salty. I only ended up eating about half of it.

For my main entree I selected the portobello burger and sweet potato fries (after I was told there were no stuffed peppers left).get-attachment.aspx

The bun was soggy and not so great, but everything else tasted delicious. Especially the fries. Sweet potato fries > french fries #sorrynotsorry.

With the Devour Downtown special our meal came with dessert, but after our crappy service, we just wanted to get out of there so we took a piece of cake to go and I let Emily have it. Hilary and I had something else on our minds:get-attachment.aspx

I hadn’t had froyo in far too long and that definitely hit the spot.

Saturday:

On Saturday I worked all morning, then was off to visit Purdue with my best friend. I hadn’t been back since September and we definitely had a blast. Pizza and ice cream were eaten. Movies were watched. And we somehow even managed to get an apartment full of guys to watch part of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now World Tour DVD. Don’t ask ;)

I may have gotten home way past by bedtime, but it was so worth it.

Sunday:

The day was spend like most others: meal planning, grocery shopping, Starbucks drinking, and making dinner for my fam. This week I also spent some time prepping food for the week which I don’t normally do.

If anyone else reads the Fitnessista’s blog (which you should, it is amazing) then you know that Winter Shape Up is starts today!! I’ve been looking forward to this since Summer Shape Up ended last year ;) Her workouts and recipes are amazing. get-attachment.aspx

amazeballs” prepped for the week

Any who, I spent an hour or so in the kitchen baking quinoa muffins (SO SO good btw), making protein balls, and chopping vegetables. Lots of tasty things to eat this week for sure :) get-attachment.aspx

I let the chocolate chips melt when I mixed them in, and that was quite possibly the best decision ever.

Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. Off to work I go, then school. I hope everyone has a marvelous Monday<3

Peace and Love,

Molly

*Happy, happy birthday to the best dad a girl could ask for<3*

  1. I had a similiar weekend. I swear, I’m sitting at my desk today and I feel like I was JUST here. Weekends that fly by always mean they were AWESOME!

Those amazeballs sound awesome! I make similar balls but sans protein powder and I use fresh nuts. I love mixing up the ingredients with dried fruit or unsweetened coconut. They’re always such a welcome treat and my gym girls love them!!

  2. Awww what a fun weekend! I wish I lived close to my family. Maybe not my brother haha but still, family makes everything better. I need to check out winter shape up thing too. After a big bowl of froyo ;)

  3. When I saw your pic for the MIMM link up I drooled and knew a up close pic would make me drool more! YUM to the froyo, I love the toppings! Looks amazing love!
Glad you had a great weekend! <3

  4. The weekend… we’re due for one of those soon, right? Lol seriously, my weekend went by so quickly that I hardly even realized it – hopefully the same will apply to this week! And I don’t know about sweet potato fries always being better than french fries, but they’re pretty darn good.

    Happy Monday, love!
