As I’m sure a lot of you heard yesterday, “Fat Tuesday” took place. If you are aware of the Lenten season that appears in the catholic church, the six weeks leading up to Easter, Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, when the Lenten season officially begins. Last year, I gave up dessert for the entire six weeks, and this year, I’ve decided to do it again! (Expect I’m going on vacation for Spring Break and may indulge a little since it’s still during Lent
).
Since yesterday was my last day to eat anything “dessert” related, I made sure to indulge a little more than I would on a normal day. Gotta get my fix to last for more than a month
TJs waffle topped with banana cream sauce
I had yoga yesterday morning at school and had to leave early, so I made something quick. I stocked up on Trader Joe’s wheat free waffles (THE best frozen waffles in my opinion) last weekend, and knew just what I wanted when it was time to eat.
After yoga I always have a little time to kill before my next class, so I got a soy latte from The Bux and drank that while reading some blogs.
After school I headed to the gym to get in my workout for the day (ate an amazeball on the way). Today on the schedule was a four-mile run. I listened to my new playlist again and it made the run fly by!
TJs tomato soup, grilled cheese & avocado, and grapes
I was expecting to work today for a little, so I made a quick lunch so I’d have time to eat. That was the first time I had tried TJs roasted pepper tomato soup and boy was it good. I think I know what my lunch will be today
And as far as work, we didn’t get any freight so I didn’t end up having to go in. Definitely yay for that!
cookie and chocolate-covered cherries
Those cookies were staring at my from the counter so I had to have one. As were the chocolate-covered cherries. I blame Fat Tuesday.
Last year Emily and I went to dinner on Fat Tuesday “just because” so I suggested going again this year. We’re both big fans of Mexican food, so Mexican it was!
spinach quesadilla with beans + unpictured chips and guacamole
I think I could eat Mexican food everyday and be content. Since it was Fat Tuesday and all, and also known as the last day we could eat ice cream (Emily is giving it up too), her and Jordan made a pit stop at Dairy Queen on the way home. I, however, had something else on my mind.
I think the best ratio is 1/2 froyo, 1/2 toppings. Am I right?
And did anyone catch last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars? So many more questions to be answered. I cannot wait until next week’s episode!
…
Happy Wednesday!
Peace and Love,
Molly
Did you participate in Fat Tuesday?
If you celebrate, are you giving up anything for Lent?

You know how to do fat tuesday right! I did something similar actually. Cake and ice cream happened last night. I eat frozen waffles every morning and I love them! I’ve never tried the TJ’s variety though. Also, I’m starving and looking at those cookies just turned me into a hangry monster
I may have gone a little overboard on the sugar, but it was worth it
And TJs waffles are hard on the outside, but gooey on the inside so I love them!
I want to go to that Mexican restaurant next time I come down!! Both of your meals look so good!
And then we will follow it with some froyo
loving the froyo topping, that looks amazing
The toppings are definitely my favorite part if you couldn’t already tell
Giving up dessert? Ack! I don’t know if I could do it. I’ve given up chocolate before, but never sworn off sweets completely. That’s quite the sacrifice
I’m not giving anything up this year, but I’m trying to focus on doing a bit more praying and devotional reading to strengthen my faith instead.
I definitely like what you’re doing too! And as far as the sweets, it’s gonna be tough
I am giving up dessert too
I’m a bit nervous about it. I know that I can do it but it’s going to be difficult. Good luck over the next six weeks!
Thank you! I made it through all 6-weeks last year so I have hope for this year. Good luck!
Good luck! And I will definitely be trying those waffles:) Your banana cream sauce is so good:)
I think the banana cream sauce (which is a recipe from cleaneatingchelsey.com) makes the waffles!
I’ve never given anything up for Lent! That froyo looks amazing! I haven’t had that in awhile–might have to change that soon!
Have a great Valentine’s Day tomorrow! <3
You should definitely get some froyo
Happy Valentine’s Day!
AH I still have to watch PLL but have it on my queue. I am going to try to give up sweets all week but then allow one on the weekend
Love the idea of grilled cheese and all your festive valentines shapes!
I like that idea too!
